The giant cicada[nb 1] is a bug in the Animal Crossing series. The giant cicada first appeared in Animal Crossing: New Leaf and has appeared in all subsequent games. It is the largest cicada in the series.

In the games that the giant cicada appears in, it is a common bug that the player can encounter, and can be found on trees. In Animal Crossing: New Horizons, it can be caught from mid to late summer.
