"Hazure03"[nb 1] is the third of three K.K. Slider songs that K.K. will play if the player makes an invalid song request in Animal Crossing: New Horizons. The name of the song, hazure, is a Japanese word for "miss" or "failure," referring to the song's function in-game. This is the only name the song currently has in the game files and on official soundtrack releases.

"Hazure03" may be based on doo-wop songs especially popular in the 1950s, with a focus on the downbeats and a I-vi-ii-V chord progression, a variant on the well-known I-vi-IV-V "50s progression" present in many doo-wop (and other) songs.

Appearances[edit]

In New Horizons[edit]

In New Horizons, "Hazure03" can be heard if the player makes a song request K.K. Slider and inputs something that does not match with any of his songs, as can the other two invalid songs, "Hazure01" and "Hazure02". Following the pattern of past invalid songs, these invalid songs will most likely become obtainable secret songs, likely with new non-placeholder names, in the next game in the Animal Crossing series.

This section contains information about unused content that cannot be seen through normal gameplay.

The invalid songs have respective unobtainable items that, if placed in a music player via gameplay modification, will not play and default to the placeholder name けけロックとゆかいななかまたち (Keke rokku to yukai na nakama-tatchi, K.K. Rock and Happy Friends). In the player's inventory, the item's name will display as はずれ03 regardless of language.

Due to being an invalid song, "Hazure03" does not have a mood for the purpose of requesting it from K.K. However, the Karaoke System, which uses a song's mood to display images on its screen, is programmed to have the "I feel good!" mood as this song's image, despite the song not actually being able to be played on it.
