Nindori, W. Link, and Étoile, three crossover villagers in the Animal Crossing series meant to represent Nintendo DREAM, The Legend of Zelda, and Little Twin Stars respectively.

Crossover villagers (conjectural name[nb 1]) are characters created to represent a specific brand or gaming franchise in the Animal Crossing series. Most of these villagers can only move to the player's town if their e-Reader card or amiibo figure is scanned, while only two cannot move under any circumstances.

Crossover villagers function similarly to regular villagers, but their house or RVs may contain items that references their brand or franchise. For instance, Marty contains furniture items that reference the Sanrio character Pompompurin.

There are 19 crossover villagers in the Animal Crossing series so far, of which nine are male and ten are female, making the category predominantly female. Of these, five are normal, five are peppy, three are lazy, three are jock, two are smug, and one is cranky. There are currently no snooty or big sister crossover villagers. In every game in the Animal Crossing series, only three crossover villagers appear in Doubutsu no Mori e+, one crossover villager appears in Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer, 16 crossover villagers appear in the Welcome amiibo update for Animal Crossing: New Leaf, and six crossover villagers appear in Animal Crossing: New Horizons as the 1.9.0 Free Update.
