Elephants are a species in the Animal Crossing series, appearing exclusively as villagers. They are characterized by their trunks and big floppy ears, as well as their rotund bellies. Although tusks are also a defining feature of elephants, only one possesses a pair. Nearly all of the elephants are also depicted with half-smiling mouths on the left side of their faces, with only a few exceptions, such as Axel. Thirteen elephants have appeared as villagers in the series. One is a jock, three are normal, four are lazy, two are peppy, one is cranky, and two are snooty. There are no smug or big sister elephant villagers.
Out of all the elephants introduced before Animal Crossing: New Horizons, Elina is the only elephant who does not appear in Animal Crossing: New Leaf - Welcome amiibo. Additionally, Axel and Dizzy are the only elephants who do not currently appear in Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp.
