Monkeys are a species of villager introduced in Animal Crossing: Wild World, although monkeys themselves have appeared in every game in Animal Crossing series. In Wild World, they were available by connecting to Nintendo Wi-Fi hubs located in various gaming shops around the world, but monkeys are more readily available in Animal Crossing: City Folk and Animal Crossing: New Leaf. They are not to be confused with gorillas. Nine monkey villagers have appeared so far.
