Version differences
In Doubutsu no Mori+, Clu Clu Land D is modeled after a Famicom Disk System, using the same model as Legend of Zelda and the blank system. In Animal Crossing, Clu Clu Land D reuses the model used for Clu Clu Land. Doubutsu no Mori e+ retains the design from Animal Crossing.
Gameplay overview
Clu Clu Land: Welcome to New Clu Clu Land is an expanded version of the maze puzzle game Clu Clu Land that was released for the Family Computer Disk System in Japan on April 28, 1992. It is a port of the VS. System arcade game VS. Clu Clu Land and was the final game Nintendo published for the Famicom Disk System. Its release in Animal Crossing is the first and currently only release outside of Japan.
The game includes two difficulty options: beginner and expert. Beginner requires the player to uncover the Golden Ingots. Expert meanwhile requires all Gold Ingots to be facing up and passing by one will result in it being flipped the other way around. It is required to have all Golden Ingots to be facing up in order to complete the stage. The player starts with 3 lives (5 lives in the original Clu Clu Land). If the player defeats several Unira enemies, the new enemy Boss Unira will appear and is a giant version of the regular Unira enemies and can be defeated in the same way as them. The music in Clu Clu Land: Welcome to New Clu Clu Land differs from the original Clu Clu Land.
