The Dung Beetle is a bug in the Animal Crossing series introduced in Doubutsu no Mori e+. Beginning in Animal Crossing: Wild World, they appear during winter, rolling snowballs. In Doubutsu no Mori e+, they instead appear from spring to fall and roll the soccer, basketball, or volleyball balls found around the player's town.

Donating to the museum
As with all insects in the Animal Crossing series, the Dung Beetle can be donated to the museum followed by a small talk by Blathers, the curator.
In Wild World
In City Folk
After donation, the Dung Beetle can be found rolling a piece of dung in the lower terrace in the smaller dirt circle, sharing the exhibit with the Migratory Locust.
In New Leaf
Since Blathers does not talk about the bug, the exhibit provides the information as follows:
In New Horizons
When donated, it is found in the large desert sand tank alongside the Scorpion in the back room of the bug exhibit, next to the tarantula tank.
