As a miscellaneous item, it can be placed on either the ground or on the surfaces of tables and other similar furniture items that have surfaces for items. The player can interact with this item to turn its lighting effect on or off.

The golden candlestick can be obtained from crafting, which requires 2× gold nugget. The recipe for this item can be obtained from smug villagers, either when they are crafting in their house, or when the player receives their message bottle from the beach. This item is lucky, meaning it gives a 777-point Happy Home Academy bonus when placed in the player's house.

This item appears as a furniture item in the homes of Boris, Diva, and Knox. As a result, this item has a chance to be purchasable by the player if they were invited by any of the preceding villagers.
