Alligators, also known as crocodiles, are a villager species that appears in the Animal Crossing series. They are one of five reptilian species in the games, and are currently the only reptiles that can appear as villagers; the chameleons, lizard, Kappas, and tortoise are all exclusively special characters. The alligators have large jaws and two sharp lower teeth which protrude from their mouths, but unlike their real-life counterparts, they have large heads, which are otherwise porportional to the rest of their bodies in real-life.

There have been nine alligator villagers in the Animal Crossing series so far; six males and only three females. Of these, three are lazy, two are jock, two are normal, one is cranky, and one is snooty. There are no peppy, smug, or sisterly alligators.

Alfonso played a major role in 🎬 Gekijōban Doubutsu no Mori, while Liz and Pironkon are the only two alligators that are absent in Animal Crossing: New Leaf - Welcome amiibo. Alli, Del, and Sly are the only alligators who are not in Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp yet.
