Kangaroos are a species of villager in the Animal Crossing series. Out of the eleven, nine kangaroos are female, and all females have joeys in their pouches, making them the first species to have a significant trait difference between male and female of the same species, followed by the deer. The joeys in their pouches will move their mouths the same time their mother does, as well as other motions while showing the same emotions (mad, sad, etc.). All female kangaroos' initial catchphrases relate to their baby. For example, Kitt's initial catchphrase is "child," and Mathilda's is "wee baby."
Of the female kangaroos, three are normal, three are snooty, two are peppy, and one is uchi. The uchi kangaroo, Sylvia, originally appeared in Doubutsu no Mori e+ with a snooty personality. Both male kangaroo villagers have the cranky personality, and there are no jock, lazy, or smug kangaroos. Additionally, Koharu and Marcy, the only peppy kangaroos, have not reappeared since Doubutsu no Mori e+.
