The Book Stands can be obtained from Nook's Cranny for  1,100 Bells.

This item appears in the homes of the following villagers: Benjamin, Chief, Fang, Fauna, Leopold, Olive, Tabby. In Happy Home Paradise, this item is unlocked for usage in house designing when doing a vacation home request for the following villagers: Alice‎‎, Bitty‎‎, Bunnie‎‎, Chevre‎‎, Clyde‎‎, Cobb‎‎, Doc‎‎, Eloise‎‎, Eunice‎‎, Gabi‎‎, Genji‎‎, Graham‎‎, Hazel‎‎, Hopper‎‎, Jambette‎‎, June‎‎, Molly‎‎, Monty‎‎, Mott‎‎, Nibbles‎‎, Norma‎‎, Ozzie‎‎, Pate‎‎, Petri‎‎, Piper‎‎, Raddle‎‎, Truffles‎‎.
