Daeboreum is an event in Animal Crossing: City Folk and Animal Crossing: New Leaf that occurs only in Korean towns in February or March. It occurs on the date of the first full moon of the lunar new year, which coincides with the date of the real-world holiday of the same name.

In Korean towns in Animal Crossing: City Folk during Daeboreum, Tortimer appears outside town hall and gives the player a bureom if spoken to.

In New Leaf

In Korean towns in Animal Crossing: New Leaf during Daeboreum, Isabelle appears in the event plaza and gives the player a bureom if spoken to.

If Daeboreum coincides with a Fishing Tourney, Isabelle instead appears outside the town hall, as Chip occupies the plaza; however, the standee still appears in the plaza.

Recurrence

Daeboreum occurs on the day of the first full moon in the lunisolar Korean calendar, itself marking the 15th day of the first month of the year.
