Jingle, a reindeer who appears on Toy Day

December is the twelfth and final month of the year. It is the first month of winter in the northern hemisphere, where snow sticks on the ground after December 10 (or December 9 in Animal Crossing), making it possible to create snowboys from snowballs on the ground. It is also the first month of summer in the southern hemisphere, and is where it is possible to find and catch a shark. The December Solstice occurs during this month, where it is the shortest day in the northern hemisphere and the longest day in the southern hemisphere.

Toy Day is celebrated throughout this month as a stand-in for Christmas (this holiday is not in Wild World). Jingle makes a prominent role as the host of Toy Day.

Fishing Tourney	Wild World: December 17 City Folk/New Leaf: December 9	Wild World City Folk New Leaf	A Fishing competition hosted by either Tortimer or Chip. A bug with this date can cause the heavy snowfall on December 10 to not occur in City Folk and New Leaf due to conflicting weather patterns.
Bug-Off	December 16 (Southern Hemisphere)	New Horizons	A Bug-Catching competition hosted by Flick.
December Solstice (Winter Solstice/Summer Solstice)	December 21	City Folk () New Leaf New Horizons	Either the shortest day or the longest day depending on hemisphere settings. Players can obtain items related to the solstice.
Toy Day	Animal Crossing: December 23 City Folk/New Leaf/New Horizons: December 24	Animal Crossing City Folk New Leaf New Horizons	Jingle makes a landing on the town/island to deliver gifts. In Animal Crossing, Jingle arrives the day after Toy Day, as Tortimer gives the player a Miniature Car or a Dolly depending on the player's gender.
Countdown	December 31	Animal Crossing Wild World City Folk New Leaf New Horizons	Villagers and special characters alike join to celebrate the arrival of a new year.
