New Year's Day is the very first event of the year.

The following is a list of events in Animal Crossing: New Leaf. Some events change dates depending on the year or the region or language of the game. In addition, some events only appear in specific game regions.

The legend for regions and languages is as follows:

  • United States of America: North America
  • Europe: Europe (some events differ based on the language the system is set to)
    • United Kingdom: English
    • Spain: Spanish
    • Germany: German
    • Italy: Italian
  • Japan: Japan
  • South Korea: South Korea

January[edit]

  • New Year's Day (January 1): Isabelle appears at the event plaza to greet the player a happy new year. She will give the player a Zodiac item specific to that year's Chinese zodiac animal. A cardboard cutout also appears in the plaza.
  • Fishing Tourney (third Saturday of January): Chip appears at the event plaza to host the first Fishing Tourney for the year, such that the player has to catch the biggest fish of a particular species.

February[edit]

  • Groundhog Day (February 2; United States of America exclusive): Isabelle appears at the event plaza to explain to the player what Groundhog Day is for. She will give the player a Resetti Model. A cardboard cutout also appears in the plaza.
  • Bean-Throwing Festival (Feburary 3; Japan exclusive): Isabelle appears at the event plaza to give the player a Red Oni Mask or Blue Oni Mask. Talking to villagers while wearing the mask will cause them to throw beans to the player. A cardboard cutout also appears in the plaza.
  • Fishing Tourney (second Saturday of February): Chip appears at the event plaza to host another Fishing Tourney, such that the player has to catch the biggest fish of any species.
  • Valentine's Day (February 14): The player will receive a letter from their mom, chocolate or cake from their villagers, and a cup of hot chocolate at The Roost.
  • Festivale (varies per year; two days before Ash Wednesday): Pavé appears at the event plaza to host the event. The player has to collect a number of feathers of a certain color to be exchanged for items from the Pavé Series.
  • Leap Day (February 29; occurs only on leap years): Isabelle will greet the player while launching the game, and a notice will appear on the Bulletin Board.
  • Daeboreum (varies per year; South Korea exclusive): Isabelle appears at the event plaza to give the player a Bureom.

March[edit]

  • Weeding Day (March 2 for South Korea): Leif appears at the event plaza and will instruct the player topull all the weeds in town, giving them furniture if they have done so properly. If there are no weeds, Leif will unlock some topiary public works projects for the town.
  • Girl's Day (March 3; Japan exclusive): Isabelle appears at the event plaza to give the player a Rice Cake.
  • Festivale (varies per year; two days before Ash Wednesday): Pavé appears at the event plaza to host the event. The player has to collect a number of feathers of a certain color to be exchanged for items from the Pavé Series.
  • Shamrock Day (March 17; United States of America and Europe exclusive): Isabelle appears at the event plaza to give the player a Shamrock Hat. A cardboard cutout also appears in the plaza.
  • Father's Day (March 19 for Spain and Italy): The player receives a letter from their dad with a red carnation attached.
  • Fishing Tourney (third Saturday of March): Chip appears at the event plaza to host another Fishing Tourney, such that the player has to catch the biggest fish of a particular species.
  • Mother's Day (coincides with Mothering Sunday for United Kingdom): The player receives a letter from their mom with a pink carnation attached.
  • Bunny Day (varies per year; coincides with Easter for Western Christianity): Zipper T. Bunny appears in the event plaza and asks the player to hunt for eggs in exchange for an Egg Basket, or prize tickets, which can be obtained by eating the eggs, in exchange for items in the Egg Series.

April[edit]

  • April Fool's Day (April 1): Blanca roams around town, and the player can play a game with her such that she goes in other villagers' houses and takes their appearances. Other villagers will also pull pranks on the player.
  • Tree Day (April 5; South Korea exclusive): Isabelle appears at the event plaza to give the player a Hibiscus.
  • Bunny Day (varies per year; coincides with Easter for Western Christianity): Zipper T. Bunny eappears in the event plaza and asks the player to hunt for eggs in exchange for an Egg Basket, or prize tickets, which can be obtained by eating the eggs, in exchange for items in the Egg Series.
  • Fishing Tourney (second Saturday of April): Chip appears at the event plaza to host another Fishing Tourney, such that the player has to catch the biggest fish of any species.
  • Nature Day (April 22; United States of America exclusive): Isabelle appears at the event plaza to give the player a Cool Globe. A cardboard cutout also appears in the plaza.
  • Weeding Day (last Friday in April for United States of America; last Saturday in April for Europe): Leif appears at the event plaza and will instruct the player topull all the weeds in town, giving them furniture if they have done so properly. If there are no weeds, Leif will unlock some topiary public works projects for the town.

May[edit]

  • Boy's Day (May 5; Japan exclusive): Isabelle appears at the event plaza to give the player a Newsprint Helmet.
  • Mother's Day (first Sunday of May for Spain; second Sunday of May for United States of America, Japan, Germany and Italy; last Sunday of May for France): The player receives a letter from their mom with a pink carnation attached.
  • Parents' Day (May 8; South Korea exclusive): The player receives a letter from their mom with a pink carnation attached.
  • Teacher's Day (May 15; South Korea exclusive): Isabelle appears at the event plaza to give the player a Red-Carnation Bag.
  • Fishing Tourney (third Saturday of May): Chip appears at the event plaza to host another Fishing Tourney, such that the player has to catch the biggest fish of a particular species. The monthly Fishing Tourney will not occur until October.
  • Father's Day (coincides with Feast of the Ascension for Western Christianity for Germany): The player receives a letter from their dad with a red carnation attached.

June[edit]

  • Bug-Off (third Saturday of June): Nat appears at the event plaza to host the first Bug-Off of the year, wherein the player must catch a highly-rated bug based on size, rarity, and luster.
  • Father's Day (third Sunday of June for United States of America, Japan, United Kingdom, and France; coincides with Feast of the Ascension for Western Christianity for Germany): The player receives a letter from their dad with a red carnation attached.
  • Summer Solstice (June 21): It will appear like it's daytime for the entire day. Isabelle appears at the event plaza to give the player a pair of Ladder Shades. A cardboard cutout also appears in the plaza.

July[edit]

  • Starcrossed Day (July 7; Japan exclusive): Isabelle appears at the event plaza to give the player a Bamboo Grass. A cardboard cutout also appears in the plaza.
  • Bug-Off (third Saturday of July): Nat appears at the event plaza to host another Bug-Off, wherein the player must catch a highly-rated bug based on size, rarity, and luster.

August[edit]

  • Fireworks Show (every Sunday of the entire month): Isabelle appears at the event plaza, handing away one of four bopper hats, and Redd operates his Cookie Stand, selling Redd's Cookies which contain tickets which can be redeemed for items.
  • Bug-Off (third Saturday of August): Nat appears at the event plaza to host another Bug-Off, wherein the player must catch a highly-rated bug based on size, rarity, and luster.
  • Obon (August 15 or, unless if it was a Sunday, August 16; Japan exclusive): Isabelle appears at the event plaza to give the player a gift, which is either an Eggplant Cow or a Cucumber Horse. A cardboard cutout also appears in the plaza.

September[edit]

  • Weeding Day (September 3 for Japan): Leif appears at the event plaza and will instruct the player topull all the weeds in town, giving them furniture if they have done so properly. If there are no weeds, Leif will unlock some topiary public works projects for the town.
  • Labor Day (first Monday of September; United States of America exclusive): Isabelle appears at the event plaza to give the player a Picnic Basket. A cardboard cutout also appears in the plaza.
  • Bug-Off (third Saturday of September): Nat appears at the event plaza to host the last Bug-Off for the year, wherein the player must catch a highly-rated bug based on size, rarity, and luster.
  • Autumn Moon (varies per year; coincides with the Mid-Autumn Festival, give or take one day): Isabelle appears at the event plaza to give a gift depending on the region. A cardboard cutout also appears in the plaza.
  • Chuseok (varies per year; South Korea exclusive): Isabelle appears at the event plaza to give the player a Songpyeon.

October[edit]

  • Autumn Moon (varies per year; coincides with the Mid-Autumn Festival, give or take one day): Isabelle appears at the event plaza to give a gift depending on the region. A cardboard cutout also appears in the plaza.
  • Fishing Tourney (second Saturday of October): Chip appears at the event plaza to host the first Fishing Tourney after a long break, such that the player has to catch the biggest fish of any species.
  • Explorer's Day (second Monday of October; United States of America exclusive): Isabelle appears at the event plaza to give the player a Sailboat Model. A cardboard cutout also appears in the plaza.
  • Halloween (October 31): The player must scare the villagers to get candy or lollipops. Villagers can also scare the player, losing candy, an item in their pockets, or an article of their clothing. Jack will be seen around roaming town, who takes candy and lollipops in exchange for an item in the Spooky Series or the Creepy Theme.

November[edit]

  • Mushrooming Season (the entirety of November): Mushrooms will appear around town, and one of them will be a piece of furniture from the Mushroom Series.
  • Fishing Tourney (third Saturday of November): Chip appears at the event plaza to host another Fishing Tourney, such that the player has to catch the biggest fish of a particular species.
  • Harvest Festival (fourth Thursday in November): Franklin appears at the event plaza to prepare a feast, but the player must assist him in gathering ingredients. In exchange for helping him prepare dishes, Franklin will give the player rare items.

December[edit]

  • Naughty-or-Nice Day (December 6; Europe exclusive): Isabelle appears at the event plaza to give the player a Holiday Stocking. A cardboard cutout also appears in the plaza.
  • Fishing Tourney (second Saturday of December): Chip appears at the event plaza to host the last Fishing Tourney for the year, such that the player has to catch the biggest fish of any species.
  • Winter Solstice (December 21): It will appear like it's nighttime for the entire day. Isabelle appears at the event plaza to give the player a Blue Glow Stick. A cardboard cutout also appears in the plaza.
  • Toy Day (December 24): Jingle roams around town, asking help from the player to send villagers their respective gifts. He will then give a Festive Wreath to the player once all gifts have been sent. If there were no mistakes, he will mail the player his picture.
  • Countdown (December 31): Isabelle appears at the event plaza with a large clock that counts down to midnight. She will give a gift to the player depending on the region and language of the game. Redd also appears, selling New Year's hats.

Special[edit]

  • Birthday: During the player's birthday, the villager that has high friendship will the player will be waiting outside the player's house. This villager will take the player to their house to celebrate their birthday there. During a villager's birthday, the player can go to their house and give them a gift.
  • Town Anniversary (the anniversary of the day the mayor moved into town; only available in Welcome amiibo): Isabelle will be waiting outside the player's house, asking them to go to the event plaza to commemorate their anniversary as mayor.
