Hinamatsuri or Girl's Day, is an event in the Animal Crossing series that occurs on March 3. It is officially celebrated in the Japanese version of Animal Crossing and in Japanese towns in Animal Crossing: New Leaf. It appears as a Nook Shopping seasonal event beginning in the 1.8.0 Free Update of Animal Crossing: New Horizons.
In Doubutsu no Mori+
During Hinamatsuri in the Japanese version of Animal Crossing, Tortimer will appear near the shrine. If spoken to, he will give the player a Lovely Phone. In international versions, this item is instead obtained on Mother's Day.

Although Hinamatsuri does not appear in Animal Crossing: New Horizons as a standard event, it appears as a Nook Shopping seasonal event beginning in the 1.8.0 Free Update, for the first time being celebrated internationally. From February 25 to March 3, the player can purchase a Blossom Lantern and a Hinaningyo from Nook Shopping.
