Nook's Cranny is the first incarnation of Tom Nook's store. Open from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m., the player begins the game with this store.
In City Folk, Nook's store supplies a wallpaper, a floor, a flower seed, medicine, two pieces of furniture, three tools and some writing paper. 'Nook's Cranny' is a pun of 'nook and cranny', meaning a small corner or hole. In the back of store 2 pieces of furniture stand alone. To the left of them is a long table that spans the whole the wall except for space for Nooks Point-Tracking System. In the middle there is a table for three tools. To the right of it is some vases. The store itself resembles a shed, made with wooden planks and held together with metal sheets. In fact, it is even stated that Tom Nook's shop may be Tortimer's old gardening shed before he became mayor. It is the only one of Nook's shops without an automatic door. In New Leaf, the shop has been renamed Nookling Junction and houses Timmy or Tommy depending on the time.
The player must spend and/or sell a total of 25,000 Bells and play for at least eight days for an upgrade while in New Leaf, the player must pay off his/her first mortgage which costs 10,000 along with spending 12,000 Bells. The player must also wait 7 days.
This store is also available as a model after he or she has earned 300 points on the Tom Nook Point System in Wild World and City Folk.
