Explorer's Day is an event in the Animal Crossing series that occurs on the second Monday of October. It appears in international versions of Animal Crossing and the North American versions of Animal Crossing: City Folk and Animal Crossing: New Leaf.
Explorers Day is based on Columbus Day, a holiday commemorating the landing of explorer Christopher Columbus in the New World on October 14, 1492.
Appearances
In Animal Crossing
On Explorer's Day, Tortimer can be found outside of the Town Hall. If the player speaks to him, they will receive a Bottled Ship.
In City Folk
When players speak to Tortimer, they receive a Sailboat Model.
In New Leaf
Isabelle can be found hosting the event at the plaza. Like previous games, the player will be given a Sailboat Model. A cutout is available for players to pose and take screenshots in.
