The Town Tree is the symbolic oak tree located at the town's Event Plaza in Template:NF. At the beginning of the game, the player designated mayor participates in a commemoration ceremony at the Event Plaza with Isabelle and the town's villagers, planting a sapling in the central plot of soil. The sapling, according to Isabelle, represents the town's growth under the new mayor – with both prospering simultaneously. As such, the Town Tree grows at a steady rate based on the amount of time (in days and hours) that the game has been played, and it goes through five stages of growth before maturing. During autumn, the Town Tree will begin to lose its leaves, and will be almost completely bare during winter. However, once spring comes back around, the tree will regain its leaves.

• 50 days and 50 hours (the player can view the list of accomplishments from this stage onwards)
• 100 days and 100 hours
