The Acorn Festival is an event in Animal Crossing: Wild World that starts on the first Monday (unless it's Monday the 1st) of October and ends on Sunday of that same week. Cornimer will be outside the Town Hall all week (preventing special visitors other than K.K. Slider appearing), and he uses his powers to randomly spread acorns around the player's town under non-fruit and non-cedar trees (oak trees). The amount of acorns acquired under each tree varies, and dropped items or designs around the trees may prevent them from appearing.

The acorn types are:

  • Small Acorn
  • Acorn
  • Round Acorn
  • Large Acorn
  • Rotten Acorn (these do not count towards the player's acorn total)

To improve the chance of collecting all 230 acorns needed, the player can plant as many oak trees as possible before and during the Acorn Festival.

Rewards

After collecting the acorns, the player can hand them in to Cornimer in exchange for furniture from the Mushroom Series. Cornimer will be standing outside the Town Hall and will keep track of all the acorns handed to him, providing a piece of furniture every time a certain acorn count is reached in accordance to the following guide:

Acorns Reward
5 Mush Stool
10 Mush End Table
25 Mush Lamp
40 Mush Chair
60 Mush Closet
100 Mush Stand
120 Mush Table
140 Mush TV
170 Mush Bed
200 Forest Wall
230 Forest Floor

However, handing Cornimer any rotten acorns will result in Cornimer taking the whole batch without anything being added to the player's score.

Alternatively, the acorns can be traded in to Tom Nook for 100 Bells each. Left over acorns will remain on the ground a few days after the festival. Sometimes, residents in the town may ask the player for an acorn, and will give a pitfall seed or stationery in return.
