Project Furniture is a collaborative wiki project that will cover any and everything furniture. Although the project was at hiatus for a few years, since January 9, 2011, there has been some interest, as of July 2014, to revive the project. Since the original foreseer of the project is inactive, I, Mario will take charge in overhauling this project. If anyone else is interested in helping, please do so in the appropriate talk page, the bulletin board, or Mario's talk page.

One of the best things about Animal Crossing games is decorating your house with <s>worthless pieces of trash</s> glorious beautiful furniture. Wow your easily impressed villagers and be the envy of your distant friends! You might want some information prior to decorating your house, however. This is what wikis are for, right?

Project Items primarily deals with the maintenance of various furniture, clothing, wallpapers, flooring, tools, and other items under the Item namespace. The project also concerns itself with pages that organize items based on series, set, theme, and categories, on their properties (e.g. color, HHA theme), or their function (bed, clock etc.). These item pages are linked via a Cargo installation in order to store and query all of our item data. More information on this effort can be found at Project Database.

Many furniture pieces belong in a set, theme, or series, in order of ascending size. As such, there is no need to create separate pages for each piece of furniture. Redirects, however, can be created to help readers search for individual pieces of furniture. If a furniture piece is part of different series, though, such as that silly Deer Scare that is in both Zen Garden set and Mossy Garden Theme, a disambiguation page should be created.

Series are generic furniture items, such as beds, television, chairs, and lamps, but with a twist. They match! It can be their color, their design, or their "vibe". Furniture series can consist of many things including, but not limited to, boring white furniture, stripey-looking furniture, furniture smuggled from Mushroom Kingdom, furniture that would make your parents scold you, or furniture that are your teeth's worst nightmare.

*Update all tables using the outdated TableHeader template to use the TableTop template (see :Category:Pages with outdated item tables)
Themes tend to be as big as furniture series, but unlike furniture series, it usually doesn't have a set of generic items such as beds, television, chairs, and lamp designed around a certain style. No, themes, when complete, although mostly impractical in everyday reality, give the impression that you're living in that kind of setting. Sets don't follow any rules really, but think of them as mini themes or series. There are usually much less items associated with a set. For instance, the Pear set has only two items: a dresser and a wardrobe that looks like -you guessed it- a pear. A few exceptions apply, but take that as a general rule.

Rules regarding item capitalization were formally addressed in a proposal in November 2022. Users agreed to use the in-game capitalization for item names (e.g., blue chair, sea bass). At the moment, only series, themes, sets, and categories are to be left in title case.

Tables make up the bulk of most furniture articles. And we don't mean the ones you put your silly computer on. The box below lists some basic wikitext code used to construct a table. Nookipedia uses templates that incorporate these elements, so you don't need to worry about including them when editing furniture articles. However it's still helpful to know what this code does in the event you need to work with raw table coding.

Please avoid double redirects. Don't redirect into a redirect!

Nookipedia:Project Items/Table Templates

When creating a table of furniture items, it's important to know what templates to use to generate the tables. Nookipedia uses a template using TableTop to create a collapsible container for the table and generates the table's column header labels. Following this, if there is Cargo data for the game in question, declare a Cargo table using <code>#cargo_query</code>. The table needs to have <code>template</code> under <code>format</code>, have <code>named args</code> set to <code>yes</code>, and use a a Cargo display template for <code>template</code>. This also necessitates the need to declare fields for the table to format properly. If no Cargo data exists for a game, you can use TableContent and manually add the data in. Finally, a TableFooter can be added to close the table, and may be used to add a note value based on the need for attribution. For more info on how to use them, be sure to visit their corresponding template page for documentation or check Project Items/Table Templates.

Project Items is a collaborative wiki project covering anything related to in-game items, such as furniture, clothing, wallpapers, flooring, and tools.

Members can be viewed at the members list. If you would like to join, simply add yourself to the list.

Purpose[edit]

Project Items primarily deals with the maintenance of various furniture, clothing, wallpapers, flooring, tools, and other items under the Item namespace. The project also concerns itself with pages that organize items based on series, set, theme, and categories, on their properties (e.g. color, HHA theme), or their function (bed, clock etc.). These item pages are linked via a Cargo installation in order to store and query all of our item data. More information on this effort can be found at Project Database.

To-do list[edit]

Item pages[edit]

First-generation Animal Crossing[edit]

 • Add HRA type (e.g. bed, dresser, table, etc.) to furniture pages (data is on the ACGC Spreadsheet)
 • Add HRA facing wall point deduction (yes/no) to furniture pages (data is on the ACGC Spreadsheet)

Item tables[edit]

 • If possible, replace any manual tables with tables that pull from item pages using Cargo.

Miscellaneous[edit]

 • Update all item names to use their in-game capitalization rather than title case.

How-tos[edit]

Main article: Help:Contents

Capitalization[edit]

Rules regarding item capitalization were formally addressed in a proposal in November 2022. Users agreed to use the in-game capitalization for item names (e.g., blue chair, sea bass). At the moment, only series, themes, sets, and categories are to be left in title case.

Tables[edit]

Tables make up the bulk of most furniture articles. And we don't mean the ones you put your silly computer on. The box below lists some basic wikitext code used to construct a table. Nookipedia uses templates that incorporate these elements, so you don't need to worry about including them when editing furniture articles. However it's still helpful to know what this code does in the event you need to work with raw table coding.

} indicates end of a table

column header title

creates new cell in the same row

Table templates[edit]

Main article: Nookipedia:Project Items/Table Templates

When creating a table of furniture items, it's important to know what templates to use to generate the tables. Nookipedia uses a template using TableTop to create a collapsible container for the table and generates the table's column header labels. Following this, if there is Cargo data for the game in question, declare a Cargo table using #cargo_query. The table needs to have template under format, have named args set to yes, and use a a Cargo display template for template.
