Chester is a lazy cub villager in the Animal Crossing series, though he resembles a panda. Chester was introduced in Animal Crossing: City Folk and has appeared in every main installment since then, with Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp being the only game in which he hasn't appeared thus far.

In New Horizons, Chester has the play hobby and can run around with their arms extended at any time, rather than only outside Resident Services during a scripted activity with a group of villagers.

Chester is a panda with basic black-rimmed eyes, a white face and make-up on each cheek. He has blue ears. He has a constantly unhappy expression, and grits his teeth when talking.

Chester is a lazy villager. As such, Chester takes a keen interest in eating, sleeping, clothes, etc. He gets along very well with the player, as well as other lazy, normal or peppy villagers. Cranky villagers admire his laid-back lifestyle, but may get angered by him.
