The Café is a facility that appears in Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer and Animal Crossing: New Horizons – Happy Home Paradise. In the former game, it is situated on Main Street to the right of the School. In the latter game, it is located on the main island of the Archipelago.

Before being constructed, it is an abandoned building in Happy Home Designer, and an undecorated, vacant building in Happy Home Paradise.

Appearances

In Happy Home Designer

The café is one of the first buildings the player will make. It can have 2 workers and 5 guests. Kitchen appliances and tables can be unlocked.

Exterior appearance variations

In Happy Home Paradise

The café can be built after completing 12 vacation homes for Paradise Planning, and can be given a custom name if the player so desires. The building for the café is situated to the south-east corner of the island, right by the southern beach. When the facility is first constructed, only the Dining Hall can be designed. Once the player attains the 'Superstar Designer' status, Lottie will suggest expanding the café with a second floor, which can be designed as Gallery. The gallery exhibition can be given a name afterwards by talking to Lottie about the café in the Paradise Planning office and asking her to "set the gallery theme".

Each day the café sells a random selection of food that can be purchased with  Poki. The café is staffed by two villagers assigned to the Staff role. Three to four other villagers will appear as diners in the Dining Hall. Once the Gallery has been constructed, three to four villagers will appear as patrons viewing the gallery.

When reaching a milestone in their career for Paradise Planning, Lottie may bring the player here to celebrate or give them the choice between going to the Restaurant or the Café.
