Facility
Facilities are buildings that the player can design and build in Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer and Animal Crossing: New Horizons – Happy Home Paradise.
In Happy Home Designer, there are a total of 10 different public facilities on Main Street that can be designed, and one of which is expanded at a certain point in the game. Isabelle tasks the player on the sixth in-game day with refurbishing a dilapidated building into a school. Following this, the rest of the facilities, which are grouped into separate sets, are gradually made available as the game progresses. In total, three sets of facilities exist, each becoming available following the completion of the preceding set.
In Happy Home Paradise, there are a total of 5 facilities. When the player works for Paradise Planning, they will gradually be given opportunities to design facilities for the main island of the archipelago. Each one is unlocked after completing a specific number of projects for clients. In addition, by meeting certain requirements, the player can add a second floor to 3 of the facilities.

Happy Home Designer[edit]
Nook's Homes is the player's workplace, and is present from the beginning of the game in the new town's plaza. The town plaza will expand in three distinct phases, each time unlocking new facilities for the player to design. The first phase begins on the sixth day, with the player being tasked to design a school. The hospital, café, and shop become available for the player to design on the tenth day. After designing all of these facilities, the next phase will unlock.
The second phase expands the plaza to the south, adding a new lower level street. The player will be tasked to design an expansion to the school, a second shop, an office, a restaurant, and a department store. Once all of these facilities have been designed, the final phase will unlock.
The third phase expands the town on the eastern and western sides. A bridge is added to allow passage over the eastern river, leading to the concert hall. A street on the western side is extended to accommodate a site for the hotel.
