The Dump is an open area in PG and DnM where a player can drop off unwanted items. The Dump takes up one acre. About two items can be found there each day. These items are taken away on Monday and Thursday, 6 a.m. In WW and CF, the dump was replaced with the recycling bin, which can be found in the Town Hall. In NL, this feature is absent, but players can sell and recycle objects in Re-Tail or they have the trash can furniture item. A player can also sell to Tom Nook or Timmy and Tommy as an alternative.

The dump is a location in DnM, , PG, and where the player can drop off or find items. It can be found in either Acre A-1, A-2, A-4, or A-5 and is accessible all day. Two reorderable items (with the exception of items available from Redd or the lottery) appear each day in the dump, with a 20% chance of an item being furniture, a 40% chance of clothing, a 30% chance of stationery, and a 10% of an umbrella. The items found at the dump are affected by feng shui, meaning the higher the player's feng shui, the more often items from their rare item list appear. Items in the dump are removed each Monday and Thursday at 6 AM. In , trash placed in the dump does not impact the town's Field Rank.

The dump is a location in Doubutsu no Mori, Doubutsu no Mori+, Animal Crossing, and Doubutsu no Mori e+ where the player can drop off or find items. In Doubutsu no Mori e+, trash placed in the dump does not impact the town's Field Rank.

On Spring Cleaning Day, Tortimer gifts the player a dump model if talked to and tells them not to throw away items anywhere besides the dump. Additionally, when an old tire is caught while fishing, the player remarks on how it should be taken to the dump.

The dump is functionally replaced by the recycling bin in Animal Crossing: Wild World and Animal Crossing: City Folk.
