Camper

For the villagers who set up camp in the first-generation games, see Camping Season. For the villagers who set up camp in New Leaf and New Horizons, see Campsite (facility). For the vehicles introduced in Welcome amiibo, see RV.
An example of a custom camper paint job the player can acquire from OK Motors.

Campers are a type of vehicle and accommodation found in Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp. The player has their own camper that effectively serves as their home and means of transportation around the map.

Player's camper[edit]

The player arrives to the campsite in their camper at the beginning of Pocket Camp. When traveling to a location on the map, the player will drive the camper to their destination, where it can be found parked by the area's exit. The player may enter the interior at any time, which can be decorated similarly to the player's house in the mainline games.

The interior consists of a single room, but an upstairs room can be added, and is accessed using a ladder added on the wall opposite to the door. Furniture can be placed within the rooms, wallpaper and flooring can be changed, and rugs can be applied (scaling to fit the size of the rooms). The ground floor has a section containing a driver's seat, passenger seat, and dashboard, which cannot be modified. The player can sit in the seats or interact with the dashboard to open the map to travel to a destination. The ground floor also has windows that cannot be changed or hidden, and the wall covering around the driver's section cannot be changed either.

Initially, the player has a vintage camper with a two-tone blue paint job. The interior rooms initially have a neutral wall and old board floor, and the ground floor contains a camper kitchen, square minitable, bucket seat, large bucket seat, and a pachira.

Upgrades[edit]

The interior can be expanded by purchasing upgrades from Giovanni at OK Motors. The player will not spend any Bells when making the purchase; instead, they will be given a loan that can be repaid from an option in the main menu. Each upgrade is offered in a set order, and subsequent upgrades can only be purchased once the previous loan has been fully repaid.

Stage Cost Size
First floor expansion  10,000 Bells 8 × 12
Second floor addition  30,000 Bells 8 × 8
Second floor expansion  50,000 Bells 8 × 12
First floor expansion  100,000 Bells 10 × 12
First floor expansion  150,000 Bells 10 × 16
Second floor expansion  200,000 Bells 10 × 12
Second floor expansion  250,000 Bells 10 × 16

Customization[edit]

Giovanni can customize the exterior appearance of the camper, and provides a variety of options to the player. Changing the camper's style or applying a basic paint job is free, but applying a special paint job carries a cost which differs for each option.

Style[edit]

There are two different styles, which determine the shape and general exterior appearance of the camper.

Paint jobs[edit]

Each of the basic paint jobs have two color channels that can be customized from a limited palette of colors. The channels are indicated in the paint job's icon in red and blue shading. Areas shaded in white or grey cannot be modified and will always appear as these colors.

Special paint jobs[edit]

Unique paint jobs can be purchased for Bells, or (in Pocket Camp only) Leaf Tickets. In Pocket Camp Complete, paint jobs that were purchased with tickets are instead purchased with Leaf Tokens. Each paint job is exclusive to a specific style of camper, and purchasing the paint will also apply its style. The "rover" paint job has a modified shape from the other modern camper designs, while the "bow-wow bus," "calico campurr," "sightseeing," and "Toy Day travel camper" paint jobs feature a somewhat modified shape of the vintage camper.

Special paint jobs are permanent purchases, and become available in the "Your Paint Jobs" menu for the player to apply freely whenever they request a special paint job from Giovanni. Two special paint jobs were only available as event rewards in Pocket Camp, but can simply be purchased with Leaf Tokens in Pocket Camp Complete.

Other campers[edit]

Special characters found in the Market Place are seen to have their own unique campers with a fold-out counter in place of a side door.

  • The Able Sisters have a beige, green, and red camper that resembles the design of their shop in the mainline games. Sable can be seen sewing behind the counter.
  • Kicks has a yellow camper resembling his shop in Animal Crossing: New Leaf, with shoe boxes stacked behind the counter.
  • Cyrus and Reese have a light pink and blue camper resembling the design of Re-Tail in New Leaf, with a wall holding tools behind the counter.

Additionally, two model campers are displayed each day outside OK Motors with random special paint jobs. However, the designs cannot be purchased by interacting with the display models, as Beppe will simply direct the player to speak with Giovanni to purchase them.
