The player rolling a snowball in Animal Crossing: New Horizons

Snowballs are objects in the Animal Crossing series that appear in town during winter. Each day, two snowballs appear throughout the town, and they can be kicked the player, growing in size if rolled over grass and shrinking if rolled over dirt. Once it is large enough, a snowball can be pushed by the player. Two snowballs can be rolled together to create Snowfolk.

Snowballs can be destroyed or lost if they are rolled into objects, hit with a shovel or axe, or rolled into a body of water or a hole. Snowballs that have been destroyed or lost can reappear if the player enters and exits a building.

Beginning in Animal Crossing: Wild World, dung beetles can roll snowballs.
