Anchovy is a lazy, bird villager that appears in the Animal Crossing series. His initial phrase is the word "churp", an onomatopoeia for the noise birds make, and a burping sound. In Animal Crossing his initial phrase has one more "u" than in the sequels.
In New Horizons, Anchovy has the play hobby and will be more frequently seen running around the island, sometimes with other villagers. He may also set up treasure hunts (a timed minigame) with the player.

Appearance
Anchovy is a brown bird with a sharp, yellow bill and thick, black eyebrows. He has white on his chin and belly, and dark brown hair on his head. He has white stripes on his arms and tail, which resembles feathers, and ends in the same dark brown color as his hair.

As a lazy villager, Anchovy will enjoy napping and talking about food, as well as appearing calm and relaxed through most circumstances. Like other lazy villagers, he will share the same interests such as clothes, fishing, bug catching, and fossil hunting. When he talks about clothes, he may mention his alter-ego, "Fashion Lad," a hero made up by lazy villagers who tackles fashion disasters. In Animal Crossing: Wild World, he may mention the idea of getting married, simply for the wedding buffet afterward. Snooty and jock villagers will find it difficult to get along with him, due to his relaxed lifestyle which may cause offense to these villagers.
