Weeding Day is an event in Animal Crossing: New Leaf that only occurs after the Garden Shop on Main Street has been constructed. Leif will be present in the event plaza during the day and will inform the player of how many weeds are in town. He will give the player rewards for pulling weeds, and unlock special public works projects if no weeds are present when the event begins. Players can also participate in Weeding Day in another player's town.
Weeding Day takes place at different times of the year depending on the player's region:
- March 2nd in South Korea
- The last Friday in April in North America
- The last Saturday in April in Europe
- September 3rd in Japan
Event[edit]
On Weeding Day, Leif will be at the event plaza where he will tell the player how many weeds (clovers do not count) are in the town, when all these are pulled, Leif will give the player one of twelve pieces of furniture from the Flower Set. Certain items from the Flower Set, however, are obtainable only if the player removes weeds in other players' towns.
Awards[edit]
- Special Cleanup Award: Awarded to the Mayor when there are no weeds in town when the day is loaded. This unlocks three new public works projects—the round, square, and tulip topiaries. Pulling any weeds on Weeding Day will only allow you to receive the Town Cleanup Prize below.
- Town Cleanup Prize: Awarded to players upon removing all weeds in town on the day of the event. Leif gives the player a random piece of furniture.
- Happy Generosity Award: Awarded to players upon participating in another player's Weeding Day. The other town's Leif will give the player a random piece of furniture.
