The gar (ガー, Gā) is a freshwater fish in the Animal Crossing series introduced in Animal Crossing: Wild World. In games prior to Animal Crossing: New Horizons, it appears in the river pool as a huge shadow; in New Horizons, it instead appears in ponds as a very large shadow. In all games it appears in, the gar is available from 4 PM - 9 AM from summer to early fall.
