Avery (クスケチャ, Kusukecha) is a cranky eagle villager who features in Doubutsu no Mori e+, Animal Crossing: City Folk, and Animal Crossing: New Leaf. His name comes from "aviary", a place for keeping birds and from the bird class called "aves". His initial phrase sounds like the noise an eagle or another bird of prey makes.

Characteristics

Appearance

Avery is a gray eagle with dark-gray patterns across his body. He looks similar to Native American or Aztec designs, where straight lines and block patterns were popular. He has average-sized eyes, and yellow feet and beak. He wears the Uncommon Shirt at first.

Personality

Below is a brief description of the cranky personality. For more information, click here.

As a cranky villager, Avery will seek amusement at the misfortune of others, usually snooty, lazy, or peppy villagers - for example, he will say to the player: "I wonder if now's the time to plant some ugly rumors about <Snooty or Peppy Villager> and watch the fun!" Like most cranky characters, he can seem rude and belittling towards the player at first, but he will soon warm up to them. He likes to collect fossils and furniture as hobbies. He acts kind towards other cranky villagers, usually sparking discussions about trivial things about habits, while with jock villagers, they will comment on his age. Normal villagers, however, will talk about his style. He prefers to wear designer styles that are on display in the Able Sisters shop made for "fancy adults" or "loud and proud."

House

In Animal Forest e+ he has the same house as Lucky with only the wallpaper replaced with the Basement Wall, along with two Dingloids. In City Folk he has some Tiki Torches in his house while his house has a Native American or Mayan feel. He is also fond of desert-themed items, such as Cacti and sometimes even desert-like wallpaper. If he gains a stereo, it will play K.K. Condor.

In Animal Crossing: New Leaf he has a western themed house with a western vista as wallpaper and an ancient floor. His house appears to be empty and deserted. His furniture is pretty similar to that in his house in City Folk : He owns a bonfire along with a tiki torch and two stony posts. Furthermore there is a watering trough, two wheat fields and a covered wagon. Like in City Folk he doesn't have a sterio when he moves in, but when he gains one he will play K.K. Condor.
