Many fans have speculated that Champ is Porter, due to their nearly identical appearances and Champ's interest in trains. Champ also does not appear in any of the same games Porter does, and vice versa. This was disproven in the [[Wii U]] app ''Animal Crossing Plaza'', which reveals that Porter's birthday is April 17th, whereas Champ's birthday was June 4th.

Champ appears as a minor character in {{Film}}. He is usually shown running or lifting weights. During the search for [[Gulliver]]'s spaceship parts, Champ goes to the woods and finds one of the parts.
It could also be possible that Champ is Porter's brother. This is supported by the fact that when entering the town for the first time, it is possible to see both the engineer and Porter at the same time, who both share the same model. Another fact that supports this is with Porter's e-reader card description, which states that Porter and his brother are rumored to occasionally switch places engineering the train.

Champ is a jock monkey villager in the Animal Crossing series. He appears in Animal Crossing: Wild World and Animal Crossing: City Folk, making him the only villager introduced after Doubutsu no Mori e+ to not appear in Animal Crossing: New Leaf or subsequent games. He also makes a minor appearance in 🎬 Gekijōban Doubutsu no Mori. His name may be a reference to his personality, or a pun on "chimp."

Characteristics[edit]

Champ in City Folk.

Appearance[edit]

Champ is a brown monkey very similar in appearance to Porter, a monkey that runs the train station in every first-generation Animal Crossing game and Animal Crossing: New Leaf. In Animal Crossing: Wild World (as well as the film), he lacks the point of fur on the top of his head.

Personality[edit]

Below is a brief description of the jock personality. For more information, click here.

As a jock villager, Champ is energetic and has an interest in physical fitness and activity. He often talks about exercise or sports and may brag about his physical fitness. While often friendly to the player, he may comment on their fitness. During conversations with other villagers, he generally gets along well with peppy villagers due to their similar hyper personalities, while he may offend snooty villagers by critiquing their fitness and annoy cranky villagers with his hyper personality. Champ usually goes to sleep at 12:00 AM and wakes up at 6:30 AM.

Villager information[edit]
