Animal Crossing: New Leaf - Welcome amiibo

Maddie is a peppy dog villager from the Animal Crossing series. After appearing in Doubutsu no Mori e+, Maddie remained absent until her return in Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer, followed by an appearance in the Animal Crossing: New Leaf : Welcome amiibo update by scanning her amiibo card and visiting her at the Campground. Maddie's Japanese name, Marron, is french for "brown", refering to the color of her fur. It also sounds similar to a dog's howl. Her catchphrase, "yippee", is derived from "yip", an english onomanopoea for a dog sound. Yippee as a stand-alone word is also an exclamation to convey excitement, reflecting the over-excited nature of her peppy personality.

Maddie's e-Card bio states that she is obsessed with keeping clean, a trait typically seen in Normal villagers, and further implies that she had a bad case of fleas at one point.

Characteristics[edit]

Appearance[edit]

Maddie is a girlie-looking brown dog, whose face and legs go from a dark brown to a lighter brown, ending up with a chalky white muzzle and paws. She bears a resemblance to the Disney character, Lady. She is a bright character but can mess up her sentences when she is angry or sad.

Personality[edit]

Below is a brief description of the peppy personality. For more information, click here.

As a peppy villager, Maddie will have the tendency to over-react in conversations about trivial subjects such as appearing in competitions and the chance of her losing. This sometimes triggers her to ask for a certain item of clothing or furniture which she needs to enter a competition. She, like other peppy villagers, will rarely be discouraged from doing anything including the usual hobbies. She will also have a short attention span, which means she will soon forget arguments or tasks given to the player which were not completed.

House[edit]

In Animal Crossing, Maddie has the Cabana Wardrobe and Cabana Bed. She also has a Classic Sofa, two Gyroids; a Mega Fizzoid and also Mini Fizzoid. She also has a Computer. She has a Gold Stereo in the back of her house playing K.K. Fusion. Lastly she has a Conga Drum and a few plants including the Round Cactus, Bromeliaceae and a Pachira. She displays the Sunny Parasol and Gingham Parasol. Her wallpaper and carpet are the Music Room Floor which is obtained from Saharah and the Cabana Wall.

In Animal Crossing: New Leaf, Maddie has updated her house to a garden-like environment. She has a lot of items exclusive to Animal Crossing: New Leaf - Welcome amiibo, such as the Garden Faucet and Garden Lantern. She has no Stereo when she moves in, but if she is gifted one, Forest Life will play in her home.
