Raddle is a lazy frog in the Animal Crossing series. He made his debut in Doubutsu no Mori e+ as an islander, and returned in Animal Crossing: New Leaf - Welcome amiibo as a villager after being absent from all previous installments. He has appeared in every game since.
Raddle's name is likely derived from a "rattling cough," a term for violent, hard coughing, which is related to his doctor-like appearance.
In New Horizons, Raddle has the nature hobby and will be more frequently seen sitting underneath trees or observing and watering flowers. He will also fish and chase after bugs, and may also be seen carrying bundles of sticks or picnic baskets.
Characteristics
Appearance
Raddle is a black frog with yellow spots on his body, as well as yellow cheeks, hands and feet, possibly inspired by a Poison Dart Frog. His eyes are white dots, slanted in a concerned fashion. Instead of revealing pupils, like other beady-eyed villagers, they become pink when surprised or shocked. Raddle's mouth is covered by a surgeon mask, which twitches when he speaks.
Personality
Below is a brief description of the lazy personality. For more information, click here.
Raddle is a lazy character, meaning he will be easy to get along with due to his laid back lifestyle. Like all lazy villagers, he shares a love of food and relaxing. He will enjoy partaking in the usual hobbies, usually for relaxing reasons or for food, especially when fishing. He will get along with smug, cranky and peppy villagers, but snooty and jock villagers will find it difficult to get along with him due to his being lax about general appearance for the former, and opposing the lifestyle of the latter. Normal villagers generally get along with him, but he may annoy or upset them by subtly suggesting they make him some food.
