Starting villagers are villagers that appear when the player moves into their town (island in New Horizons). The starting villagers roster varies between different Animal Crossing games.

In Animal Crossing

In Animal Crossing, the game starts with six villager on the town. An initial town will always have a jock, lazy, cranky, normal, peppy, and snooty villager, with further villagers being added to a maximum of 15 villagers.

In Doubutsu no Mori e+

In Doubutsu no Mori e+, all of the previous non-starter villagers return, and are joined by the following villagers that can only be obtained by scanning e-Reader cards:

In Animal Crossing: New Horizons

In Animal Crossing: New Horizons, the game starts with two villagers on the island, with each of them having a jock and big sister personality. The next three villagers that can move onto the island will have peppy, normal, and lazy personalities.
