Rex is a lazy lion villager from the Animal Crossing series. He initially appeared in Doubutsu no Mori, Animal Crossing, and Doubutsu no Mori e+, but remained absent from the franchise until Animal Crossing: New Leaf - Welcome amiibo. He has been present in every game since.

His name comes from the Latin word "rex", which means "king", relating to the common metaphor that lions are "kings of the jungle".

Appearance

Rex is an orange lion with a brown mane. He has three freckles on both of his cheeks, and a dark brown nose. He has half-closed eyes with purple eyelids.

Cranky villagers will admire their laid-back style, while jock and snooty villagers, on the other hand, may conflict him due to his lifestyle and not caring about his appearance, respectively.
